Following the mineral sand Committee report led by Chairman Professor Abdulrahman Mruma, President Magufuli yesterday, 24 May 2017:
- fired the Minister of Energy and Minerals, Professor Sospeter Muhongo;
- dissolved Tanzania Minerals Audit Agency (TMAA) Ministerial Advisory Board; and
- suspended the TMAA’s Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Dominic Rwekaza.

Acacia has published a Notice dated 24 May 2017 in which “Acacia re-iterates that it fully declares everything of commercial value that we produce and pay all appropriate royalties and taxes on all of the payable minerals that we produce.”
